Situated in the Mitte district of Berlin, the hostel offers a unique chance to imagine what it was like to live in East Germany as it is decorated with original East German accessories and furniture.

The Ostel Das DDR Hostel is just a short walk away from the Ostbahnhof train station, providing you easy access with the rest of Germany.

Furthermore the hotel has a beautiful garden with furniture for you. During summer this is the place for the hotel's Ostgartenparty with barbecue every Saturday.

The hostel is located just a few minutes from the eastern centre of Berlin, with its trendy bars, restaurants, clubs and numerous shops.

Tourists information

By Train (from Berlin train station):
- Take the S-Bahn towards the east until you get to the east train station (Ostbahnhof)
- Exit the train station towards Erich-Steinfurth-Strasse / Strasse der Pariser Kommune.
- You will see a shop on the right and a building with 6 floors on the left.
- Go around this building to find entrance number 5; this is the hostel.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later, 80 percent of the first night will be charged.
In case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 4 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 20.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 1.
There is no capacity for cots in the room.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
City/tourist tax is not applicable.

Internet: Wireless Internet Hotspot is available in public areas only and is free of charge.

Meal Plan: Breakfast is not included and costs EUR 3.50 per person.

Parking: Free Private parking is possible on site.

Pets: Pets are allowed on request. No extra charges.
