The Gasthof zur Sonne is a traditional, family-run guest house situated approximately 7 kilometres north of Freiburg. It is cosily furnished and offers comfortably equipped guest rooms.

The guest rooms are cosily furnished with shower and TV. Some rooms are also fitted with their own WC.

Breakfast can be brought to your room on request.
Non-smoking rooms are available.
We do not offer rooms suitable for the mobility impaired.

Food and beverages

In the mornings, we treat our guests to a varied breakfast buffet featuring fresh produce from our own allotment.

Area information

The surroundings offer a variety of day trip destinations and recreational activities. You can, for example, visit the Mundenhof animal enclosure in Freiburg or the Eugen Keidel baths with their own thermal spring.

The beauty of the Black Forest can be discovered via numerous cycle paths and hiking trails. To the East, you can explore the Dreisam Valley in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park; to the West you can enjoy the plains of the Rhine valley, where the wine regions of Tuniberg and Kaiserstuhl invite you to go hiking. The Schlossberg mountain in Lorettoberg is also well worth a visit.

Europa-Park - the most famous theme park in Germany - offers excitement and fun for all the family, and is located less than 30 kilometres from Freiburg.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, 80 percent of all nights will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 4 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years are charged EUR 1.00 per night and person for cots.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 5.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
