The hotel "das Smolka" distinguishes itself through its central and leafy location. The city centre, the harbour, the railway station, the exhibition grounds and the airport can all be reached via public transport in a matter of minutes.

The bus station and Alster boat jetty can also be found nearby, as can the elegant shopping streets, Hamburg’s largest market and numerous trendy pubs.

We offer free of charge wireless LAN access for our guests.

Hotel information

With its 40 guest rooms, our traditional hotel is of a manageable size and offers an intimate atmosphere.

The small hall, bar and dining areas are elegant and cosy. We offer a breakfast buffet daily in our stylish dining hall, and complimentary newspapers are available in our lobby.

Our Reception staff are available 24 hours a day. They provide a concierge service and services for business travellers.

Our bar is open throughout the day. A parking service is available for an additional fee.

Room information

Our 40 guest rooms are individually furnished and offer cable TV (28 channels). Some rooms also feature soundproof windows, trouser press, room-darkening curtains, ISDN and a balcony.

Food and beverages

Our comprehensive breakfast buffet is available from 06:30 to 11:00.

Our hotel bar is open throughout the day.

The hotel does not offer its own restaurant, but a wide range of eating establishments are available within the immediate surroundings.

Area information

The Hotel is located by the Outer Alster lake, in Hamburg’s most attractive district - Harvestehude. The area surrounding the hotel is known for its excellent range of shops, from unusual, hip stores through to top designer boutiques.

Nearby, the numerous restaurants and bars, as well as the city's largest and most attractive market (held on Tuesdays and Fridays), offer a variety of entertainment.

During your stay, make sure you take a trip by Alster steamboat; you can reach the city centre within 20 minutes via these vessels.

Tourists information

Arriving by public transport:
The underground stations Klosterstern and Eppendorfer Baum are located in the immediate vicinity.

From the main railway station:
- Take the underground line U1 towards Norderstedt Mitte and get out at Klosterstern (6 stations away)

From Fuhlsbüttel Airport:
- Take the Airport Express from terminals 1 and 2, and get out at the underground/city rail station nearby
- From there, take the underground line U1 towards Ohlstedt and get out at Klosterstern (6 stations away)

Cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled or modified up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, 80 percent of the first night will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 6 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years are charged EUR 10.00 per night and person for cots.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 25.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
