The Gastwerk is Hamburg's first "Design Hotel", and is located just 15 minutes from the city centre.

Public transport services take you to the famous harbour, to the river Alster, and to numerous shops and cultural attractions in no time.

Our guest rooms are upwards of 25m² in size and offer an extraordinary ambience, with unique design.

We offer our guests cost-free parking, cost-free WLAN throughout the hotel, and cost-free use of our fitness centre "Elixia".

Occupying a former coal stockyard for Hamburg's gasworks, the hotel offers 141 rooms and suites, a flexible conference area, a restaurant, bar, wellness area, an Asian-style relaxation zone, cost-free parking spaces and an underground garage.

Atrium Room: These smaller standard rooms in industrial design are 25m² in size and offer a view of the atrium.

Business Room: These deluxe rooms in modern design are 30m² in size and feature a large window front and a bathroom with power shower.

Loft Room: These deluxe rooms in industrial design with red brick walls are 30m² in size and feature a walk-in wardrobe.

Our restaurant "Da Caio" offers a sophisticated atmosphere and has a reputation as one of the finest Italian restaurants in the city. New specialities are on offer daily, and a well assorted wine list is available.

Located just 6 kilometres from Hamburg’s city centre, the hotel lies within a listed area with a large park, a fitness centre and several shops.

The hotel enjoys an easily accessible location, just a few minutes from the A7 motorway (exit Bahrenfeld). The airport can also be reached quickly from here, and the river Elbe is nearby.

Arriving by car:
- Take the A7 and exit at Bahrenfeld
- Continue towards the city centre ("Zentrum") along Osdorfer Weg, which then leads to Von-Sauer-Straße and to Bahrenfelder Chaussee
- Turn right into Bahrenfelder Steindamm and then right again into the road Beim Alten Gaswerk

Arriving by public transport:
From the main railway station:
- Take the S-Bahn (city rail) line S1 towards Wedel or Blankenese and get out at the stop HH-Bahrenfeld
OR
- Take the line S21 towards Elbgaustraße or the S31 towards Altona and get out at the stop Holstenstraße
- From there, take the bus number 3 towards Bahrenfeld/Trabrennbahn or Schenefelder Platz and get out at the stop Bornkampsweg

From Altona station:
- Take the S-Bahn (city rail) line S1 towards Wedel or Blankenese and get out at the stop HH-Bahrenfeld

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled or modified up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, 80 percent of the first night will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
There is no capacity for extra beds in the room.
Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 2.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
City/tourist tax is not applicable.

Internet: Wireless Internet Hotspot is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge.

Meal Plan: Buffet breakfast is not included and costs EUR 18.00 per person.
